Ba Duan Jin or "Eight Pieces of Brocade" (Qi Gong)

This is a gentle, slow series of exercises using simple movements and stretching. This is an active form of Qi Gong. These exercises both strengthen and relax body, increase circulation and balance the energy of the body. Each movement or position is correlated to one of the 12 acupuncture meridians and helps open and balance it. It can be used by itself or as a warm-up for Tai Chi or Standing Qi Gong. It is a perfect exercise for people of all ages. When practiced over time and on a regular basis it can bring noticeable health changes.
